The cross-rod is part of the conveyor load path. Its diameter must fit the hollow opening with workable clearance while its unsupported span must resist bending and vibration.
Rod Diameter
Use the documented hollow diameter as a geometric limit, then define manufacturing clearance, plating or surface condition, retention hardware and any intended articulation.
Rod Span
Long spans between paired chains can deflect under carrier load. Include the chain centre distance and load position in the drawing so the rod can be reviewed as a beam rather than a simple pin.
End Retention
Circlips, nuts, cotters or custom retainers must stay clear of the frame and sprockets. Guard exposed moving hardware.
